Unifiber’s goal is to realize an extensive Homes Passed network in Wallonia. We position ourselves as a so-called Network Operator, providing in an open fiber optic network to which any Operator or Service Provider can offer its services. Unifiber will provide a dark fiber network that literally passes individual living units and Multi Dwelling Units (MDU’s, high rise buildings), allowing for future individual consumer connections into the homes. This network is foreseen to be deployed in municipalities varying from aprox. 4.000 to 60.000 Homes Passed (living units) per municipality. To guarantee a most efficient, timely and optimal deployment process, we strongly believe that certain critical aspects in our process deserve enough time and focus to support a timely and reliable deployment of our network. 
  • Support to Manager IT for operational issue handling regarding Unifiber IT tooling (including managing accounts, answering user questions, troubleshooting, modifying, providing data/reporting etc.). 
  • The IT platforms used in Unifiber are a critical factor for efficient business operations and need effective maintenance and support.  You will be the first line operational contact for internal users and customers to whom they can address issues and questions.  In case of more complex matters, a team of senior experts can be consulted to resolve the issues.
Day-to-day operational support of Unifiber IT tooling
  • Act as operational internal/external contact for OSS and BSS tooling
  • Act as operational internal/external contact for office IT (cloud services)
  • Support Unifiber/external technicians in tooling use (accounts, instruction)
  • Monitor and ensure correct working of Unifiber applications and reporting
  • Implement configuration changes to existing IT tooling (e.g. parameter setting, basic reporting,..)
  • Handle and coordinate of IT tooling issues (in cooperation with vendors)
  • Support IT manager in tooling development, testing,and introduction
  • Support IT manager in IT security implementation and monitoring

Who are you?

Your department

The Operations team is responsible for designing, building, maintaining an open FTTx network in Wallonia and connecting end-users onto the network for operators that want to offer services over Unifiber’s fiber network.  We use a project & process-based methodology that enables us to work efficiently towards our ambitious goals.
